Hertz Studio Colossal Titan Statue: Bertholdt Hoover and the 70-Piece Edition

Hertz Studio Attack on Titan Bertholdt Hoover & Colossal Titan

The Colossal Titan does not need a dramatic entrance. It needs a wall to stand behind. That is the whole logic of the Colossal Titan Statue.

Hertz Studio has paired the titan with the person inside it, building Bertholdt Hoover into the same composition. The Colossal Titan Statue is a limited resin release. The scale is deliberately extreme: the height range sits in the over-90 cm band.

Only 70 pieces are in production, across an EX Version and a Regular Version.

Who Is Bertholdt Hoover?

Bertholdt is one of the most important characters in Attack on Titan, and for a long stretch of the story he is also one of the least visible. He arrives as a quiet cadet in the 104th, deferring to Reiner and staying in the background while the rest of the cast takes up space.

The reveal that he is the Colossal Titan reframes everything before it. Every scene he stood silently in becomes a scene where he was deciding something. The character’s defining trait turns out to be the willingness to do terrible things and then live with them.

The titan itself is the other half of the design. At 60 metres it is the largest of the Nine. It fights with steam and weight rather than skill. That makes it a structure as much as a monster.

Why the Human Half Matters

Most Colossal Titan merchandise is a monster piece: a giant head, a wall, some steam. Adding Bertholdt turns it into a scene about the decision rather than the result.

The composition set the statue describes uses a ruined battlefield with shattered masonry and destruction effects around the two figures. That framing is what separates a fan-made scene piece from a licensed statue across the same subject.

Over 90 cm of Display Problem

Anything in the over-90 cm range stops being a shelf piece. It is a floor or table centrepiece. It needs a room that can give it air on all four sides.

Weight is the second issue. Large resin compositions with scenic bases are heavy. A wide base on a soft floor will mark it. Put something rigid underneath, or set the piece directly on a hard surface.

Light the scene from one side at a low angle. Destruction detail reads best with raking light, while flat overhead lighting will turn a sculpted battlefield into a textured lump.

EX Version or Regular Version

Two configurations are listed. The EX Version is the one to check carefully if you want the full scene, because extras on a limited run are usually what determine the final price and the collectability.

With only 70 pieces in total, the edition is small even by resin standards. Across two versions that is a very short production run, and pieces like this rarely appear on the secondary market at list price.

Colossal Titan Statue: Payment and Pre-Order

Hertz Studio is offering this with either a deposit or full payment. It is a pre-order rather than in-stock stock. A deposit holds a unit through production and keeps the outlay manageable on a piece at this scale.

Ask about the shipping crate before you commit. A composition over 90 cm tall ships in a pallet-sized box, and freight is a real part of the total cost.

Care and Storage for the Colossal Titan Statue

Dust with a soft brush and work from the top down. Keep the piece out of direct sunlight, and never lift it by the titan’s limbs or the destruction effects.

Keep the crate. A scene piece at this size cannot be shipped safely in anything else. The packaging is part of the value if you ever move or sell.

Who the Colossal Titan Statue Is For

Colossal Titan Statue: Pairing It With the Rest of the Line

Attack on Titan scene pieces are easier to display as a set than as individual statues, because the series is built on confrontations rather than portraits. Two or three large compositions placed apart in the same room read as a themed space rather than a crowded shelf.

If you already own another Hertz Studio release, keep the bases at the same level and leave a clear gap between them. Oversized statues lose their impact when they are packed together, and gain far more when each one has room to itself.

This Colossal Titan Statue suits Attack on Titan collectors who want the titan and its shifter represented in one piece. It suits collectors of oversized scene statues who have the room for something this tall.

Meanwhile, collectors with cabinet-based displays should look at smaller Attack on Titan releases. This one aims to stand on the floor or on its own table.
