Re-envisioned by Josh Nizzi and vividly realized in brutal detail by the 4th Angel towers as a monument of biomechanical horror and divine terror. This is not merely another Evangelion series addition; it’s a radical redesign combining industrial aggressiveness with anatomical surrealism. It does not present a pose. It looms. At 58 cm, it also rules everything in its path.
Every inch of this monument screams conflict and damage. Under jagged armor plating, the chest core pulses with energy surrounded by layered exoskeletal blades designed for annihilation. Its skeletal face, half mask, half dream, is sculpted with a terrible, sentient accuracy. Though they are based on heavy, war-forged armor, the twin shoulder masses, crowned with hollowed-out skull-like forms, reflect the alien divinity of the Angel.
The limbs turn powerfully. Sinewy but armored, they descend with claws and blades shaped from a vanished planet. And the base, jagged, hexagonal, industrial, grounds the figure in an otherworldly battlefield so that the Angel might tower with a forward-leaning posture that reads as mid-advance, mid-attack, mid-destruction.
Designed in polystone and mixed materials, this work offers tactile variation that accentuates the intricate textures over its surface. Here, finely sculpted, are flesh-like ridges, cracked armor, energy-embedded cores. This pays more than only honor to Evangelion. It redefines what an Angel might be as monstrous, beautiful, and monumental.
For Evangelion completists, concept designers, or collectors pursuing pieces that demand complete attention, a must-own is The focal point of the Prime 1 Studio 4th Angel ( Josh Nizzi Concept) is not background artwork.
Character
In the Evangelion Rebuild series, the 4th Angel marks the true beginning of humanity’s confrontation with the unknown. Towering over Tokyo-3 in Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone, it is the first Angel to engage directly with NERV’s forces—launching an overwhelming assault that sets the stage for the arrival of EVA Unit-01. Unlike the passive or cryptic Angels of earlier media, the 4th Angel is pure aggression: relentless, unfeeling, and mechanical yet organic. Its AT Field slices through defense lines. Its body—a terrifying fusion of alien symmetry and sacred design—raises the question central to Evangelion’s mythos: Are Angels divine, or are they weapons? With Josh Nizzi’s concept redesign, this statue pushes that question further—presenting the 4th Angel as a biomechanical god built for total annihilation.
